Once, Abu Salamah came back after he was with Allah's Messenger and said: I heard Allah's Messenger recite a statement that made me delighted. He said:(No Muslim is struck with an affliction and then says Istirja` when the affliction strikes, and then says: `O Allah! Reward me for my loss and give me what is better than it,' but Allah will do just that.) Umm Salamah said: So I memorized these words. When Abu Salamah died I said Istirja` and said: "O Allah! Compensate me for my loss and give me what is better than it.'' I then thought about it and said, "Who is better than Abu Salamah'' When my `Iddah (the period of time before the widow or divorced woman can remarry) finished, Allah's Messenger asked for permission to see me while I was dyeing a skin that I had. I washed my hands, gave him permission to enter and handed him a pillow, and he sat on it. He then asked me for marriage and when he finished his speech, I said, "O Messenger of Allah! It is not because I do not want you, but I am very jealous and I fear that you might experience some wrong mannerism from me for which Allah would punish me. I am old and have children.'' He said: (As for the jealousy that you mentioned, Allah the Exalted will remove it from you. As for your being old as you mentioned, I have suffered what you have suffered. And for your having children, they are my children too.) She said, "I have surrendered to Allah's Messenger.'' Allah's Messenger married her and Umm Salamah said later, "Allah compensated me with who is better than Abu Salamah: Allah's Messenger .' [ Muslim reported a shorter version of this Hadith]

Semoga keluarga arwah bersabar dengan musibah ini dan semoga Allah azzawajal memberikan sebaik baik ganti . Semoga Allah Azzawajal juga menempatkan arwah dikalangan para anbiya' dan semoga terlepas daripada siksaan Qubur.

Mendiang Capt Tan Eng Huat, 11th Jun 1991

Mendiang Capt Tan Eng Huat's  chopper crashed in Banding Area, East of Grik, 130 Hrs , 11th Jun 1991. His son , Capt Tan Ban Soon followed his footsteps to dorn the RMAF uniform and emerged as best ATMA's Air Force candidate in Jan 2009.  Excerpt from website 'Bercakap melalui papan kekunci', entitled 'Tragedi Nuri 1991 tidak jejaskan semangat Tan Ban Soon' :

Januari 7, 2009 Oleh SAIFUL HAIZAN HASAM
NAHAS udara yang melibatkan sebuah helikopter di sempadan Malaysia-Thailand berdekatan Banding, Perak pada kira-kira pukul 5.30 petang 11 Jun 1991 merupakan tragedi yang mengejutkan seluruh rakyat Malaysia.
Berita mengenainya menjadi tajuk-tajuk utama akhbar tempatan kerana ia mengorbankan tujuh anggota Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM).
Kejadian dilaporkan berlaku sewaktu helikopter yang membawa bekalan makanan dari Pangkalan Udara Butterworth itu terhempas sewaktu cuba membuat pendaratan di sebuah lereng bukit kawasan operasi (kira-kira 800 meter dari paras laut dan 30 kilometer di timur laut Grik).
Enam penumpang termasuk juruterbang helikopter itu, Kapten Tan Eng Huat, 36, dilaporkan maut di tempat kejadian manakala seorang lagi iaitu Kuartermaster Sarjan T. Balasubramaniam meninggal dunia di hospital tidak lama selepas itu.
Nahas itu mungkin sudah lama dilupakan kita semua kecuali keluarga terdekat mangsa termasuklah famili mendiang Eng Huat.
Suratan atau kebetulan tidak perlu dibincangkan kerana darah keperwiraan seorang anggota tentera biasanya akan diwarisi anak-anaknya.
Seorang anak Eng Huat, Kapten Tan Ban Soon, 23, yang berusia sembilan tahun sewaktu kejadian ngeri itu berlaku meneruskan tradisi bapanya dengan menyarung uniform Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM). Baca seterusnya....

          Remembered during commissioning nite, he brought his wife along. To think that  I lost to him during the 2nd round Abdul Rahman Coy's boxing  tournament :D. I met him again for the last time in TUDM Kluang while he was undergoing chopper pilot  training, it was a memorable meet after not seeing him for quite  spell after commissioning. Rest in peace friend...
