Carl Gustav Recoilless Rifle

Taken from Wikipedia

There was an occasion where we had the opportunity to handle the weapon and the firing took place at Asahan Firing Range in Melaka, with scrapped 'APCs' and tanks as targets.  Due to safety concerns, a 'drill' was devised, with two cadets assigned a time ~ one was to position on his shoulder the weapon , take aim and pull the trigger, while the other was to load the missile and ensure everyone/everything was cleared from the  obvious back blast. Both cadets were entrenched in a 'dug out' shoulder length high. Once fired, both would switched roles and repeated the 'drill'. It was truly 'awesome' handling 'Charlie G' and I was able to  score a direct hit at an APC :D which earned an extra shot later (but taken later by cadet CO... hmm ;o) )

It so happened this particular skot , let me designate him as 'JD1' (heheh) was the first to shoulder and cadet 'JD2' was tasked to load the missile. The drill went something like this:

JD1 : "ISIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII  PELURU"

JD2 : "SIAP"

JD1 : "CLEARRRRRRRRR?"

JD2 : "CLEARRRRRR!"

JD1 : (Pressing the trigger)

Lo and behold, the trigger was pressed and nothing happened. By this time the instructor , (couldn't recollect who he was but he was either Capt Mahmood Kamsani (RMR) or Capt Norizan (RRR) ) started making his way to the dug out, did the inspection, and, found out , to his consternation, the missile was loaded wrongly and on the reversed ! 'Celaka ko kedet ! ' And your guess is good as mine on what followed next  akakakakakakakaka

Btw , JD1 had retired to 'greener pastures' (they say old soldiers don't die but just fade away ..heheh) while JD2 is still soldiering on :D heheh

Lt Colonel Zahri Harun, Royal Artillery Regiment

Currently he holds the appointment of  'El Komandante', PLKN Camp Cancun Park, Pasir Mas, Kelantan. Must be one tough dude, judging a number of issues pertaining to the camp affecting the trainees, two of which listed below:
a. Even 'Budu' which was not included in thedaily 'menu' seemed to be an issue, which surfaced in March this year,  hahahah
b. Food Poisoning involving 127 training in March last year.

The good Colonel was awarded Malacca's "Bintang Khidmat Terpuji " (B.K.T.) in 2007
