Mej (B) Mustappa Bin Othman was born on the 2 January 1959 in Johor Bharu, Johor. He started his career with the Malaysian army on 13 July 1978. He joined the GERAKHAS Regiment after completing his education at Royal Military College (RMC). He was the Security Task Force Commander during the Leaders of Commonwealth Countries Meeting (CHOGM) in Kuala Lumpur. During his service with GERAKHAS Regiment, he had the opportunity to participate in many training courses with military personnel from other nations. They are:

1.British Royal Marine Commando/British SAS
2.Australian Special Forces/Australian SAS
3.New Zealand SAS American Special Forces

I remembered he 'fasted' over a period of three months non stop (Rejab, Sya'aban and Ramadhan) while in RMC. He was small built, very slender then. Not sure now :D.
